Overwatch’s Torbjon Is About To Get ‘Nerfed’

Torbjorn will be getting a bit of a downgrade soon –  well his turrets will be at least. According to game director Jeff Kaplan in a recent Reddit thread-

In an upcoming patch, we will reduce the damage done by Torbjörn’s turret by 30% on Xbox One.

This upcoming patch will reduce the character’s effectiveness substantially, how much of an impact will this actually have on Torbjorn in game?

Torbjorn is generally classed as a defense-focused character – although used in the right way in the right game he can be a powerful attacking force. His turret deployment is a massive part of his arsenal (also included are his rivet gun and hammer). As he places turrets he has the ability to upgrade them into even more powerful variants to assist with blocking off key areas or giving general cover. With the turrets soon to be 30% weaker, will that mean he becomes a forgotten character, with gamers choosing a different defender, or will it not have much of an impact in game?

Well you won’t have long to see what impact this change will have, with the patch ETA aiming for Mid to late July depending on 1st party certification times.

Do you play as Torbjorn, or have you been on the receiving end of ‘one to many’ deaths thanks to his turrets? How big of a difference will this make, let us know in the comments section below
