Play Halo 5 for free when Firefight launches

Warzone Firefight is the eighth free update for Halo 5: Guardians, and sees the return of the legendary co-op Player Versus Enemies game style that debuted with Halo ODST, and spawned many a Horde Mode in its wake.

Warzone Firefight represents the biggest release of new content since Halo 5: Guardians launched towards the end of 2015 and, if April’s beta for the new mode is anything to go by, Firefight will be bigger and better than ever before.

This latest release is so much more than just one new mode, though. As we covered last weekend, Warzone Firefight will bring a whole host of new maps, REQs, Forge tweaks and a new Score Attack mode for Campaign. Check out the full list below, and click through to Xbox Wire for more.

  • New Game Mode – Warzone Firefight
  • New Campaign Feature – Score Attack
  • New Maps – Attack on Sanctum, Prospect and Molten
  • New Forge Canvas – Tidal
  • New REQs Items

Warzone Firefight launches on 29 July 2016.

And that’s not all. To celebrate the release, the full game of Halo 5: Guardians will be available to download and play FOR FREE to all Xbox Live Gold members from 29 June to 5 July as part of Xbox Live’s “Free Play Days” program. Additionally, Halo 5: Guardians will be on sale for 50 percent off during this same time.

If you’ve not picked up Halo 5 – or perhaps have never touched a Halo game (the shame!) – there’s never been a better time.

See you in the Warzone, Spartans!
