Get ready fight fans, Ed Boon, Co-Creator of the Mortal Kombat Franchise has been talking about the possibility of a Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat crossover. And for all the Xbox One players out there there’s an extra bit of good news, any crossover would be an Xbox exclusive title. A round-house kick to the face for other platforms, that’s for sure.
Ed Boon was responding to the many fan requests for a crossover when he said that he was a big fan of the Killer Instinct franchise. He also said that he would expect such a crossover to be an Xbox exclusive title as Microsoft have kept tight control over the project since day one. We can see this ion the guest appearances we have already had from other Microsoft controlled games such as General Raam from Gears of War and the Arbiter from Halo.
I loves me some KI but a crossover would have to be Xbox exclusive. https://t.co/bb69z4gQCw

This tweet shows that Ed Boon has been giving some serious thought to the possibilities of a crossover. Even going as far as thinking about exclusivity. It also wouldn’t be the first time that Mortal Kombat has been involved in talks of a crossover with a different franchise, in 1997 there was talk of a TV based crossover with the Street Fighter franchise. Unfortunately nothing game of this.
This news is no sort of confirmation that any crossover is going to happen. All of this is at the moment speculation but if someone as well placed as Ed Boon is talking about it then there is still a chance of it coming to fruition.
