Rock Of Ages 2 Coming To Xbox One

As our video games strive for more and more realism we have started to get a lot of games where historical accuracy is important. Well not for much longer. The good folks at ACE Team have announced that the follow up to their classic of the tower defence genre, Rock of Ages, will be coming to the Xbox One.

At its core will be the same rock smashing, tower defence of the original but there will also be some upgrades. Now there will be more emphasis on co-op and competitive play. There is also an upgraded physics system and a brand new resources system that will help you defeat invaders and defend your castle.

Rock of Ages 2: Bigger and Boulder will contain all of the following features and more:

  • Up to 4-person Multiplayer – A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, so that’s why ACE Team decided to up the gate-smashing stakes by beefing up the multiplayer features of the game. Play with up to four players online in a 2v2 match to the crushing death with the ability to customize banners and colors for your “units.” Plus, the tracks now intersect, so you can knock the enemy rocks to get an advantage!
  • Utter Chaos – Expanding on the first game with a more diverse selection of units and a larger focus on rock-smashing strategy in Bigger and Boulder, chaos reigns supreme! Just don’t take each turn for granite!
  • Improved Physics and Destructible Environments – Developed in Unreal Engine 4, Rock of Ages II has upgraded physics and even more things to be cracked, crushed, flattened, and slammed. It’s the most fun you can have rolling rocks down a big hill!
  • ACE Team’s Trademark Quirkiness – With humor is turned up to 11, players will literally rock and roll through the ages. Famous historical figures beware!

To accompany the announcement ACE Team also released a trailer to go along with it and that trailer promises to be 40% less historically accurate. And guess what? You can enjoy it right here.

For anyone lucky enough to be going to E3 this year Rock of Ages 2: Bigger and Boulder will be available to play there. We can also expect to get more details about the game as well in Los Angeles.
