Gears of War 4 Beta Had 1.6 Million Players

There were over 1.6 million unique people playing the recent Gears of War 4 Beta on the Xbox One, Microsoft revealed today during its 2016 NPD announcements.

Microsoft has said it expects Gears of War 4 to be the “biggest game of the year” for the company. The beta ran for a total of two weeks in April, though at the start only those who played the Gears of War Ultimate edition were able to play, and finished off on May 1st.

Microsoft went on to say that April 2016 was the “best month in history for global engagement on Xbox One.” They also teased the future of the Microsoft brand and its announcements for next months E3 convention in Los Angeles.

“It’s a great time for the industry, and we thank our fans for their continued support,” Microsoft said. “We look forward to sharing more on our vision and plans for continuing to deliver the best gaming experience on Xbox one, Windows 10, and Xbox Live this year at E3 in June.”

Things seem to be on the up and up for Microsoft and the Xbox One, with 2016 already shaping up to be one of the consoles best years to date. Are you excited for Gears of War 4’s release in October?
