Infinity Ward have set the internet on fire recently with its announcement of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the fact that it will come packaged with a remastered COD 4: Modern Warfare. The developer keeps adding little firelighters to the blaze as it announces more and more restrictions. Well now it could be set to pour a whole bucket of petrol onto it.
It is clear that fans are not happy with what they see in the new Call of Duty game, the Infinite Warfare trailer is already the most disliked video in YouTube history. But the inclusion of a remastered version of the classic COD 4: Modern Warfare seemed to be a massive selling point to the game. Infinity Ward however seem to be determined to make this bauble dirty in the eyes of fans.
Credible sources are now saying that you won’t be able to play Modern Warfare without having the Infinite Warfare disc in the Xbox One. This means that you may have to be careful if you are considering buying the disc or a code from a third-party source.
Oh and by the way, you won’t get a copy of Modern Warfare Remastered if you only buy the standard version of the game. You will need to buy the Legacy, Legacy Pro or Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. Feeling cheated yet?
There is speculation in the community that Infinity Ward would add such a stipulation to stop gamers buying Infinite Warfare just to get a copy of Modern Warfare. They would then sell Infinite Warfare. This would then reduce the number of copies of Infinite Warfare that the developer would sell. And they couldn’t have that now could they?
