Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – 101 Trailer And More

April 28th 2016. The gaming world has gone to shambles, quality first person shooters are in short supply, someone must do something to remedy the situation. Square Enix want to be the company to lead the way in resolving the FPS shortage, whether they can do that remains to be seen….

That’s a suitably dramatic introduction to an article that focuses on the in depth but extremely gripping 101 Trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

The trailer is in fact extremely clever when you really think about it. As opposed to the normal narration with the “Hey look you can play like this” or a game developer presenting the idea of you being allowed to play how you like while still following a linear storyline, the trailer is instead presented in the form of a monologue from the games protagonist Adam Jensen.

Throughout the trailer Jensen details the back story of the game which is focused on the breakdown of relations between regular humans and those with augmented enhancements. The trailer goes on to have our hero detail the ways in which he could investigate the reasons behind growing tensions.

There are numerous options, as you’d expect from a Deus Ex title. You can go in full force, all guns blazing and strong arm your opponents into surrender. Or how about using the augmentations you’ve been gifted with to your advantage? Why not combine your proficiency with modified firearms with Jensen’s explosive nano blades and titan shield. However, perhaps neither of these options take your fancy, in that case why not go in like a ghost? Hack security systems, utilize frailties in the environment and perform non-lethal takedowns to encourage your opposition to come peacefully.

All the information can be found in the trailer below, the same trailer that also showcases how well designed the game would seem to be:

The trailer was accompanied by the following press release:

Square-Enix® and Eidos®-Montréal today released the 101 trailer for the much awaited Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™. In this new video, you will follow Adam Jensen, an experienced counterterrorism agent of Task Force 29, as he makes sure that the events of the past won’t repeat themselves.

The year is 2029, and mechanically augmented humans have now been deemed outcasts, living a life of complete and total segregation from the rest of society. Now an experienced covert operative, Adam Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.

Narrated by Adam Jensen, this trailer takes the form of a short investigation, showcasing brand new footage of Adam’s apartment and new locations in Europe, including Prague. You’ll learn more about Adam Jensen’s improved augmentations, which help to enhance his infiltration, combat, and hacking capabilities. Additional insights into the storyline will be revealed, and you’ll also discover both old and new acquaintances, all of which have their own agendas. Whether going rogue or by the book, choices never come without consequences. The truth is still yours to reveal.
