DiRT Rally – Multiplayer Trailer

There’s something reminiscent of Rally racing games that shoot me back to playing TOCA World Touring Cars with my brother when I was just a wee lad. What has been missing for the majority of the more recent releases though is the real multiplayer experience of going “bumper to bumper”. For example, Forza just uses the ghost system and it does feel like it’s missing a big part of the competitiveness gaming. Being able to have physical contact with another driver only adds to the intensity of getting onto the podium, sometimes including abusive shouting towards the screen when another player took that last turn a little too fast, knocking you off the track.

But DiRT Rally is hoping to bring it back, specifically mentioning that aspect of racing against other cars who are not akin to Caspar the Friendly Ghost, enabling up to 8 players to race against each other; all live, all able to smash their way to the front or park their car in the middle of the track hoping for a future Burnout game.

Check the UK Video below but also, if you wanted more, their other-region videos have a little extra footage of the game too which is due for release on April 5th.

I'm on all things MMO/MOBA, family man, part-time streamer at http://www.twitch.tv/gamingatheart_ and on the OfficialXboxOneUk channel too. For me, gaming isn't a hobby or even a passion; it's a way of life. I'm trying to make it even more than that through streams, videos and writing.

Hi Pete, sorry I was being a little too specific there/ Forza 4 and beyond has rivals whereas Forza 6 has “Ghost Lobbies” for class C races.
They’re great for people learning the difference from AI to real racers but it still loses a sense of competitiveness.
When I played rivals on Forza 5, it was good fun for a while because the race servers dropped a lot, but the appeal soon dropped.
