The Division Breaks Ubisoft Sales Records

Congrats are in order for the folks at Ubisoft for the success of their outbreak/doorway-griefing simulator The Division, as they have announced that their latest game has broken their highest sales record for the first 24 hour period since release.

The Division also set the record for most digital sales in a single day across all platforms, and its success now means that Ubisoft hold 3 out of the top 4 most successful new IP launches in the gaming industry, joining Destiny, Watch_Dogs and Assassin’s Creed.

“The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivalled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters,” said Yves Guillemot, CoFounder and CEO, Ubisoft. “This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love.”
