Titanfall 2: Grounded, Dirty and Story Driven

It appears that fans of the Titanfall series have already been given a timeframe for the next instalment, which follows on from the success of the initial game, which released in March 2014. Unfortunately for those fans there’s still a while to wait as distributor EA has not set a release date, indicating only it will be out in fiscal 2017, which runs from April 1 through March 31, 2017.

However, if you are a fan of the critically acclaimed original then don’t be too disheartened as the cash flow generated from the remarkable success of the first game has ensured that its long awaited sequel will address one of the biggest flaws of it’s predecessor by pairing it’s excellent multiplayer format with a dedicated single player campaign. The games developer Respawn Entertainment was a fledgling studio at the time of the development of Titanfall and as such did not have the resources to create a solid single player and multiplayer game, so they instead focused all of their efforts on the multiplayer which was a rousing success with fans and critics alike.

The story sounds as though it may be more than a little bit interesting as it will portray a world in which science meets magic yet still manages to remain “grounded, dirty, human and real” the general premise of the story is:

…a retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed for excavation and construction , demolition and working the land, and what happens when they are turned into instruments of war.

If that doesn’t sound like a good time and an engaging story I don’t know what does. Are you as hyped for Titanfall 2 as we at Xbox One UK are?
