Red Dead Redemption Backwards Compatible On Xbox One Has Been Pulled

As you may have seen, over the weekend Red Dead Redemption was available on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility, despite no announcements from Microsoft stating its availability.

This was not an early release ahead of an announcement, but an error from Microsoft, and has since been pulled, meaning that it is no longer available.

Microsoft’s “Major Nelson” (Larry Hryb) told Reddit that “Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available,”

“We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.”

So all of you (lucky) people that managed to play Red Dead over the weekend, what was your experience of it on the Xbox One? I know a few of us here at Xbox One UK are eagerly awaiting the day it is formally announced!

  2. They now claim it was an error and access has been removed. Someone screwed up!

  3. hopefully when it does arrive it’ll also include the Zombie Expansion as I’ve got both on Disc for the 360? We can always hope?
