Fans of Diablo 3 should start getting excited right about now. A huge update is on its way and will include the Greyhollow Island expansion. Expansion 2.4 will be released before the start of the new season on January 15 with the date of January 12 been floated around.
Brandy Camel from the Diablo Community has been talking with fans. “The January 15th date is the start of the new season, we plan to release the patch prior to the start of Season 5. While we typically patch on Tuesdays, dates can always shift if we run into technical issues during deployment preparations. This is why we do not provide hard release dates for any patch.”
With this update will come the expansion Greyhollow Island which is an entirely new area created solely for adventure mode. “Miles off the coast of Westmarch lies an island that many believe to be little more than legend,” the official description reads. “Cut off from the rest of Sanctuary’s developed civilizations, Greyhollow was once the center of a grand empire. Often times, such isolated societies grow and advance at incredible rates, and Greyhollow was no different. Its citizens devoted their cause to a mysterious and, as is often the case in Sanctuary, completely evil being. For reasons still unknown to this day, this unimaginably advanced society collapsed, leaving ruin, chaos, and a lingering curse behind.”
This new adventure will include the usual host of new challenges and gear for players to collect. All in all it does sound a little exciting and but also terrifying as well. The Diablo post gives us one final warning, “Naturally, you do not stand a chance and, regrettably, death will not claim you when you inevitably fail.”
