Windows 10 Xbox Accessories app available on a PC near you.

We love the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller. Love, love, love. Yes, it’s an eye-watering £120 and no, you can’t get one for love nor money right now, but we still love it.

We also love plugging things into our PCs. Keyboard lights, those wee spinny fan things, mices. You name it, we’ll plug it in. Joyously, Xbox One controllers are supported by Windows 10 so from day one, we have been able to plug our Elite controller into our PCs and use it for gaming. Smashing.

Well, with the new Xbox Accessories App for Windows 10, we have access to the full range of customisation options hitherto only available on the console App. This is great news if you are a PC gamer as it is much easier to configure the controller for PC games direct from the PC on which you will game!

In even better news, the app syncs with your Xbox Live account to make sure that any profiles you have saved on your console appear immediately in the Windows 10 app. Functionality is identical to that of the console app (with the addition of keyboard and mouse support for navigating menus and naming profiles), so you can get customising straight away.

Amazingly, prone to intermittent fits of unexplained optimism. Lived alone and liked it so much he bought the company. Wouldn't mind being a little less clever and a little more handsome. Dislikes: Rain, people, arranging words into painstakingly grammatically correct order. #ILHIMH

Hi Pete – the app on Windows 10 has the exact functionality of the console App for Elite controllers but, interestingly, doesn’t support button remapping for standard wireless controllers. We have reached out to Xbox for more information. Thanks for getting in touch!
