CM Punk To Appear In UFC 2
So you’ve never fought in the octagon? That’s not a problem, neither has CM Punk as of yet but he is still set to appear in EA Sports forthcoming UFC 2. EA have now confirmed that it is indeed true that Mr. Punk is set to feature in the next installment of its UFC franchise.
All fighters in the UFC franchise are giving stats (obviously), as well as strengths and weaknesses. Without him having ever had an official UFC fight it’s quite hard to see how his stats will be generated for the game but apparently this hasn’t been a problem for the good people at EA. When CM Punk was part of the WWE setup he was something of a crowd pleaser so it is easy to see that it would be a good business decision by EA to include him in the game.
There is also a direct opposite situation to this as well. Former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar won’t be appearing in UFC 2 as the rights to his likeness is now owned by the WWE. It was this likeness issue that meant that CM Punk wasn’t featured in the last WWE game as at the time his likeness was already owned by the UFC.
UFC 2 is set for a spring release date although no actual date has yet been given. The people who have already had the chance to see the game are saying that it is one of the best MMA games on the market and the addition of CM Punk to the line-up can do nothing to hinder this in the eyes of the fans.
