Games With Gold Gave Away £600 Worth Of Games This Year

2015 was a great year to be an Xbox live member. And if you were then you will already of seen Microsoft’s ‘Thank You’ to the fans in the creation of Games with Gold across the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

If you didn’t already know Games with gold is a type of reward system’. If you purchased a yearly subscription for Xbox Live Microsoft will give you a few games titles to download and own for free. These appear on the 1st and 15th or each month on both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, with different titles appearing on different consoles. The games are not limited to only be played within the month you buy them either, they are yours to own the forever. If your like me and you love a freebie, then you may have decided to play Pokemon with then and attempted to collect them all then. If so, your going to need a bigger hard drive, take a look at Xbox One UK’s Guide to hard drives if you need a bit of help

The games provided this year have been a mixed bag, with old titles, newer indie titles, larger AAA titles being supplied. In fact a bit of everything has been given away at some point throughout the year. This year the total outlay of games is a whopping £632.66!!! not bad when you consider that Xbox live costs a mere £40 and gives you access to content on BOTH consoles. *Thanks goes to Polyogon for the Stats

As you can see, Microsoft have gone all out to supply a great line up of titles over the past year, and it looks like they don’t have any intention of stopping this program any time soon, which is great news for the fans.

This gives us all the opportunity to collect even more free games. If however your not an Xbox Live member (yet) and are wondering is it worth it? Well, even without the great online community that Xbox has, the opportunity to play multiplayer with your friends, or a complete stranger in america, the whole host of apps that are now available like sky or Netflix. If you were to forget about all of that, and much more to be fair, then Xbox live is worth getting just for the valve you receive in the fee games supplied monthly.

I cant wait to see what games become available in 2016…… think im going to need a second hard drive!
