Motiga’s upcoming team based third person shooter, Gigantic has unfortunately been delayed until 2016 due to “finite resources” and a desire to meet expectations.
In August Gigantic entered a closed Beta phase. The information gained from this Beta in part as lead to the decision to delay the game so that the team can do the best they can with the information that they have gained from it. unfortunately this delay as meant that sixteen people have been laid off. The company is offering them job placement assistance and also severance pay.
About the delay the company had this to say. “We’ve received lots of valuable feedback throughout our testing phases, and as we reflect on the things we must accomplish to meet the expectations we have set for ourselves, it is clear that we need to move the launch window for Gigantic into 2016.
Unfortunately this change in schedule has meant Motiga had to make some difficult decisions this week. As a pre-revenue startup, our resources are finite. Stretching Gigantic development milestones over more time requires that we stretch those resources in the same fashion. As a result, today Motiga has had to lay off 16 employees at the studio. All impacted employees are receiving severance and job placement assistance.”
