Psychonauts 2 Officially Announced

‘Psychonauts is a classic action/adventure platformer from acclaimed developers Double Fine Productions and written by industry legend Tim Schafer, who created Broken Age, Full Throttle, and Grim Fandango amongst many other things. We want to make a sequel! ‘  Double Fine Productions

The original Psychonauts was released on April 19th 2005 to critical acclaim and quickly found a loyal fan base who helped make the game a massive success, with a total of 1,697,073 units sold so far across all platforms. The game follows the story of the character Razputin, a young psychic, and his journey to become an international psychic secret agent with the Psychonauts. Razputin runs away from the circus he calls home and manages to break into the Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp, The Psychonauts secret training facility. However he soon realizes all is not as it seems, and soon embarks upon a psychic adventure through a variety of levels set inside the minds of misfits, monsters, and madmen.

But the story of Psychonauts is only the start of Razputin’s adventures. The game ends on a cliff-hanger with the promise of more to come… Now it’s time to tell that story. In Psychonauts 2, Raz realizes his dream and visits Psychonauts Headquarters. However, when he gets there, he finds it’s not the perfect place he expected and quickly realizes that the Psychonauts need him more than he needs them. According to the official web page

Psychonauts 2 was officially announced at the 2015 Game Awards and is looking for backers to get the game funded for final release.
