Rocket League confirmed for Xbox One.
Well, well, well ladies and gentlemen it seems that the indie sensation that is Rocket League might be making it’s way to Microsoft based shores sooner than we thought! As seen here rumors of the indie sensation making it’s way to the Xbox One have been around for a while.
It appears as though the title has been “accidentally” confirmed via our favourite confirmation method, being given a rating by an obscure classification board. This time around it’s the good people of the Taiwan classification board that have let slip by rating a title called “Rocket League” on a certain “Xbox One” platform.
While this may seem surprising as the title is currently exclusive to a couple of platforms that shall not be named, it shouldn’t come as a complete shock due the fact that Psyonix (Rocket League’s developer) have stated numerous times in the past that their game wouldn’t remain exclusive forever and would eventually find it’s way to additional platforms.
A past statement from Psyonix CEO Dave Hagewood went along the lines of “Yes, we are definitely bringing Rocket League to additional platforms, we’ll have an official announcement of what platforms those are a little further down the line. Hopefully before the end of the year, but I can’t confirm that.”
Whilst he may not be able to confirm it we can certainly start speculating that maybe that “before the end of the year” announcement could come at The Game Awards 2015 where Rocket League is a nominee in multiple categories, including best independent game and best multiplayer game. If it isn’t confirmed at the game awards expect an official announcement soon.
So do you think Rocket League will come to Xbox One as one of it’s first “additional platforms” or will they make us wait a bit longer?
