Happy Birthday Xbox 360!!! 

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Xbox 360’s official launch in the UK. Microsoft’s second generation console was set to take the gaming experience to a whole new level with better graphics, an upgraded processor and more memory. The Xbox 360 was first released on November 22, 2005, in the United States and Canada December 2, 2005, in Europe and December 10, 2005, in Japan. It was later launched in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Russia. In its first year on the market, the system launched in 36 countries, more countries than any other console has launched in a single year.

Now that the 360 is in its retirement years, it can sit back and relax, happy in the knowledge that it help to strengthen Microsoft as major force in an already well established console market. Thanks to its popularity it has paved the way for the creation of the Xbox One.

The Xbox 360 began production only 69 days before launch, and Microsoft was not able to supply enough systems to meet initial consumer demand in Europe or North America, selling out completely upon release in all regions except in Japan.Forty thousand units were offered for sale on auction site eBay during the initial week
