Looks like mankind will stay undivided for a bit longer. In a post on the Deus Ex website, David Anfossi (The Head of Edios Montreal) has announced that upcoming Steampunk-RPG Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed till August 2016.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was originally announced back in April through a bizarre stream on Twitch titled “Can’t Kill Progress” with an initial release date of February 23rd, 2016. Here’s the full post from the Deus Ex website.
We’re confident and proud of the game so far,” Anfossi wrote. “However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards.
“We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.
“So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support – through thick and thin. It’s a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex Mankind Divided – we know, but also a huge privilege. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.”
On the one hand, I’m pretty sad about this. Human Revolution was an oustanding game that I played through multiple times and throughly enjoyed it each time, but then again. They’re delaying it so that they can make sure it’s the best possible game it could be. Either way, there will be plenty of Augmented August (AUGust?) puns which will make me want to kill everything.
