It looks like WWE 2K has an indie competitor entering the ring in 2016… Straight from the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, it’s ICW: Fear and Loathing – The Game!
For the unaware, of which I imagine there are many, Insane Championship Wrestling is an indie wrestling promotion from Scotland whose roster boasts an impressive mix of up-and-comers like Grado (IT’S YER SEL!) and former WWE guys like Drew Galloway (Drew McIntyre in WWE), Rhyno, Sabu and even Mick Foley as a guest commissioner. Even NXT guys like Finn Balor have been in an ICW ring.
Little has been revealed about the game other than the early look at the ring inside of Glasgow’s The Garage nightclub, and honestly… It doesn’t look good. However, the website states that the graphics, “like every other area of the game will be improved and refined over time”. The gameplay sounds much more promising, citing AKI engine N64 games like WWF No Mercy, WrestleMania 2000 and even Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for New York as their main inspiration.
