Ronda Rousey is the UFC 2 Cover Star, Plus More Details
EA Sports are already underway with plans to return to the Octagon and now EA have revealed more details on the upcoming MMA sequel. Firstly, the game will feature female MMA mega-star Ronda Rousey on the cover of the game and promises to feature the biggest roster yet.
EA Sports have lifted on the lid on a huge amount of new features for UFC 2, as well as the expanded roster, there’s a variety of new modes. KO Mode is exactly what you’d think, the fight doesn’t end until someone is seeing stars. EA also promise a revamped Career mode which will allow you to create a female fighter this time, as well as training camps and career defining moments to help give the career mode a new authenticity.
I can’t find any actual screenshots of EA Sports UFC 2 so I’m using these pictures from the announcement page.
Knockouts have also been revamped, as described on the website
With the new physics-driven hit reaction system, every knockout will feel different from the last. Fighters will fall in response to their momentum and the blow they receive, making each knockout feel responsive and rewarding.
On top of that, the grappling and submissions have also been improved to be more responsive and dynamic which is great, because from my experience the first UFC game, grappling was always confusing and unpredictable. Also, I usually got KO’d a lot when I got caught in grappling but lets not talk about that. Defending is also getting more control, with improved head movement, blocking and an improved parry system.
Nope. Still can’t find any screenshots of UFC 2.
But it’s not just how you fight that’s getting improved, it’s how the other person’s face looks after you’ve punched and kicked it multiple times that’s getting changed.
A new facial model rig, hair physics, and improved strike deformation bring a whole new level of detail to the game and work to make every impact feel and look realistic.
To help with the destroying of the faces, the game will also feature tons of animations including iconic moves of fighters. There’s a whole lot more features that I haven’t even began to talk about so if you want to take a look for yourself, click here.
EA Sports UFC 2 is currently scheduled for release on Spring 2016. Here’s the trailer that reveals Ronda Rousey as the cover star.
