Skyrim Was Ported to Xbox One, But Only As Prep for Fallout 4

Oh cruel Bethesda! You give with the one hand, and take away with the other…

During an interview with Game Informer, Todd Howard of Bethesda let slip that one of the first key steps of creating Fallout 4 for the new generation of consoles was porting Skyrim to Xbox One. However, Todd was quick to say: “Don’t get your hopes up yet.”

The porting of Skyrim was an exercise for the development team to allow them to understand the new hardware quickly, and that there are no plans to release it as part of the Backwards Compatibility Program.

This might be disappointing, but now that the news has surfaced, I’m sure a few thousand tweets might make Bethesda reconsider… Ladies and gentlemen, get to work!

  2. im thinking if this game was ported & works as good as the PC it came from, MS would be extremely stupid not to fund its release
