343 Industries Confirm ‘Big’ Day 1 Patch For Halo 5
343 Industries have confirmed that a Day 1 patch will be coming to Halo 5: Guardians. According to the Xbox Store, Halo 5 itself will be around 47GB. The leaked box are of Halo 5 confirmed a download of up to 60GB. This means the remaining 13GB will be made up of updates and save files.
The day one patch, called the MP Update by Josh Holmes, Studio Head at 343 Industries is set to contain 9GB worth of multiplayer map content. The patch will basically be downloading the rest of the Halo 5 game. At launch, Halo 5: Guardians will contain 20+ maps, with more than 15 additional maps to be added before June 2016. The game’s Forge mode will also be added during December this year. All of this additional content will be free.
As well as the free content, 343 Industries has a dedicated live team established for the game. This team has a sustained plan which includes new content and features to be added that will extend months beyond launch. 343 will also be monitoring the game and community 24-7, to address any unforeseen issues that may crop up. Two of the maps that were playable on the Beta, Empire and Eden, are not playable at launch but will be added at a later date.
