High Profile Voice Actors May Be Going On Strike

A number of high profile video game voice actors may be going on strike very soon. This is in protest for better pay and working conditions. The Screen Actors Guild/ American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) is considering the action due to what they perceive is the unfair treatment of artists in the industry.

The union is proposing that artist receive stunt pay for “vocally stressful recording sessions”. They also want artists to receive a bonus after sales of the product exceed the two million units mark. On top of this the union also wants more transparency for roles so that artists aren’t walking in blind on new projects.sag

To go ahead 70% of the voting members need to be in favour of the action already people like Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex’s Adam Jensen), D.C. Douglas (Resident Evil’s Wesker), Gideon Emery (Wolfenstein’s Fergus) and Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect’s Female shepherd) are all on board with the plan.
