Games Out This Week 14/09/2015 – 20/09/2015

Well, here we are at the start of another week which means another batch of new games heading our way. Heads up though gamers, this is one heck of a week with some real big hitters in the line up. So without further a do, let’s see what’s coming and get the hype train going:

Destiny: The Taken King

Oryx, The Taken King has arrived in our solar system, bringing with him a corrupted army to exact revenge on the Guardians who destroyed his son, Crota, and to consume our worlds. Arm yourself with newfound abilities, weapons, and gear. Defeat the Taken hordes. Make your way aboard the Dreadnaught, and face Oryx himself within his inner sanctum.

The game tells the story of King Harold, who has tasked you with constructing a huge tower, which will be his greatest achievement. Along the way the elements and the meddling of vengeful King Edmund, Harold’s arch-enemy, threaten to throw a spanner in the works of your creation. Three modes of play are on offer – story, survival and competitive – the game will also feature 50 levels of randomized gameplay. Levels are constructed by instructing your engineer to match three or more blocks of tools and colours in order to complete each level’s goals. Seven different types of material are available, along with seven types of tool. You get better rewards for matching three blocks of the same material and which feature the same type of tool, and even better ones for matching four or five blocks.

Forza Motorsport 6

As real as it gets – Breathtaking graphics at 1080px resolution and 60 frames per second. Wet weather, 3D puddles, and night racing test your driving skills. Cutting-edge ForzaTech engine powers the unrelenting action and stat-of-the-art-physics at simulation speed.
Ultimate car fantasy – The most cars of any racing game this generation. More than 450 cars all immaculately recreated and customizable, and complete with working cockpits and full damage. Tour 26 world-famous locales including Daytone, Rio, and more.
Never race alone – Home of the greatest racing, tuning and painting community in gaming. 2-player split-screen racing, 24-player races, and realistic Drivatar opponents deliver packed tracks and unrivaled action.

NHL 16

NHL 16

Built with more input from loyal fans than ever before, NHL 16 steps onto the ice to deliver ways to compete as a team, new features across the most played single-player modes, gameplay innovation at every position on the ice and an unrivalled game day atmosphere.

For 3-8 Players and an Audience of thousands. The team behind the hit party games YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, Fibbage and Drawful presents Quiplash – the laugh-a-minute battle of wits and wittiness. Use your phone or tablet to answer simple prompts like “Something you’d be surprised to see a donkey do” or “The worst soup flavor: Cream of _____.” No rules, no correct answers, just say whatever you want. Your answer is pitted against another player’s answer in a head-to-head clash of cleverness and comedy (or just “Which answer is least stupid?”). Other players and even an audience of people waiting to get in the next game – then vote for their favorite answer. Quiplash is a go-to party game that everyone can play and enjoy.

The game features a graphic style that would pitch it somewhere between the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive, from what we’ve seen it looks set to feature a tough-as-nails challenge. In Gunworld, guns grow on trees, so you’ll need to plant seeds and reap the rewards as you play through. Great news is that local co-op is in, so bring a friend to play along with you.
