Phil Spencer on MODs, Lawbreakers and more!

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer took to Twitter yesterday and a flurry of tiny bits of news has followed. First he answers fans’ questions about news on Xbox One backwards compatibility. After promising that news on the matter would release this week and with this week being very much almost over, his tweets at least seem to point to the adage that no news is good news.

And although possible, adding achievements to the backwards compatible titles might not be easy.

With Xbox One being region free it’d be hoped that the backwards compatible titles will be too.

On the topic of Games with Gold coming to Windows and Windows Phone, Spencer was not against the idea.

Microsoft are also looking to improve their device integrations.

Though going on to say:

Expect things for the Halo 5: Guardian launch? Yes.

Spencer also proffered some news on the new Xbox One UI.

And went on to comment on Cliff Bleszinski’s – a.k.a CliffyB or “that man who was lead designer on Gears of War” – new IP Lawbreakers.

To which Bleszinski replied:

Halo 5-themed Elite controller?

And further bad news if you’re a Flight Simulator fan.

There was insight into a possible GDC talk on cloud compute –

And confirmation that no new MechAssault is in the works.

A brief bit of information on how the cloud isn’t being used the same way by all.

There was also an emphatic denial of Xbox Micro rumours.

You’re going to have to wait a little while longer if you’re waiting for a new Battletoads game.

And might have to wait a while for more Sea of Thieves news.

There’s definitely going to be more on ReCore, though.

Finally, although there’s nothing concrete the future will hopefully be bright for user-created MODs.

(Many thanks DualShockers)
