Mega Man Legacy Collection
If you’re feeling retro this summer, put your helmets on and get ready for Mega Man Legacy Collection! The game will be available digitally across North America and Europe starting August 25, 2015 on Xbox One and Windows PC.
This incredible collection celebrates a piece of video game history by not only featuring the series’ origins with all six of the 8-bit classics, a robust Challenge Mode full of remixed gameplay sections and a surprise for all you fans of the originals.
Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer, yet serves as a good starting point for new players too. All six of the classic games will retain their retro 8-bit style with a newly added HD finish, giving all of the original sprites the crispest look fans have ever seen.
Each of the six games will feature a list of all the enemies available allowing the player, you, to have a practice fighting the “boss” before having to play the levels until that particular point.
Ok now for that surprise I was on about, If your one of many who remembers the originals then this could be for you, why? Well not only do you get to make the most of the original 6 classics and that challenge mode you will also get your hands on the in-game museum loaded with collections of sketches, art and “an exhaustive collection of sketches, art and other visual materials,” according to Capcom. Digital Eclipse is scanning items into the game at “absurdly high resolutions” for the museum. But that’s not all… You’ve got your hands on the games, the modes, the museum and now the music, that’s right you will also get the music player with all the games’ soundtracks which is more than 100 songs!!
The Mega Man Legacy Collection has joined the likes of the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition and Resident Evil 0 in Capcom’s line-up of throwback projects and it appears to be the company’s biggest remastering effort yet.
Now myself… I’m too young to remember the originals but I do like trying new games (well new to me) and looking at the trailer it has anticipating it’s release. What about you guys, did you play the originals and are you glad they’re coming back? Let us know!
