‘Love the Past, Play the Future’ is the tagline for the latest version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, as KONAMI today shared a lot of details ahead of gamescom.
PES 2016 will be playable for the first time at this years gamescom in Colne and KONAMI is hoping for it to win “Best Sports game” 2 years in a row. It uses the FOX engine (also being used by Metal Gear Solid V) and has some significant advancements, it will feature 3 times more animations than last years title, much focus has been placed on Goalkeepers animation this time and outfield players will benefit from a greater variety of movements and techniques.
PES 2016 also features dynamic weather for the first time ever as matches than start overcast can suddenly turn into torrential rain, only to be bright and sunny towards the end of the match, much like real life. The rain also changes how the physics of the ball and the ability of players, as less skilled players are more likely to slip and fall in wet periods. Add to this the new real time ball physics that keeps each and every moment and match unique.
The game’s popular Master League mode has been completely revamped with every element of the mode has been redesigned or improved upon, more info on this and other modes will be talked about at gamescom.
There will also be a special edition of the game titled “The Anniversary Edition” that offers an exclusive steel book case and a number of pre-order bonuses- including the ability to have Neymar as a loanee at your club in Master League mode, to get a head start.
KONAMI also announced that on August 16th they would be releasing a demo for the rest of the world to get a taste of this years game.
PES 2016 releases on September 18th on Xbox One and its cover art was revealed as well:
