On your marks, Get set, Run like the clappers
Here’s an age old question we have all come across as some point, “I bet I am quicker than you” or “I can beat you in a race” (you’re more than welcome to nod in agreement). Now we can have that race in a digital form thanks to the awesome ‘SpeedRunners’, the aim is simple – make your opponents eat your dust.
‘SpeedRunners’ gives us the fun of running laps around a track with the goal of getting so far ahead of your rival racers that they perish by falling off the edges of the screen, when this happens they die and you get the chance to smile like a champion. It’s a no holds barred multiplayer extravaganza that puts you in a group of 4, either online or locally. Use your skills of running, jumping and swinging to be the fastest but if all these options fail use the helpful pick-up items and knock the pixels out of the opponents. Everyone respawns when there’s only one person left and the whole game gets a fresh restart until only one runner has any lives left, wearing appropriate tracksuits and sweatbands isn’t compulsory but is recommended to get in the zone.

So how did ‘SpeedRunners’ ever exist, it’s all thanks to ‘tinyBuild’ and ‘DoubleDutch Games’. Originally developed by ‘DoubleDutch Games’ and called “SpeedRunner HD”, the game released on Xbox Live Indie Games some time ago, with local multiplayer. The two indie studios decided to partner up and co-develop the game, where ‘DoubleDutch Games’ handle all the core game design and code, while ‘tinyBuild’ handles all visual/art and marketing aspects of the game. I am so grateful these two big hitters joined forces, just take a look at the trailer below for numerous reasons as to why:
There you are ladies and gentlemen, an ID@XBOX beauty that I can not wait to add into my ever growing indie library. ‘SpeedRunners’ just gives out the fun vibe straight away and a title we all know that can be played for hours, will you be joining me in getting it too?
