Witcher 3 NG+ Situation explained by Dev’s

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a truly massive game, with a base story line that I spent over 100 hours completing (some side quests too), the weekly free DLC that CD Projekt RED have been adding since launch adding more content in the form of Costumes, Missions & Bounties have only expanded this time to a total of over 250 hours now. With 2 massive DLC packs coming in October and Early Next Year that claim to be “Bigger” than Witcher 2 CD Projekt RED really seem to want a monopoly on our time, it seems however fan’s want more in terms of a NG+ (New Game Plus), giving you a much more interesting experience if you decided to play through the game again.

Last week CD Projekt RED Marcin Momot simply stated that he cannot say for certain if this mode will be included or not in the future, and since then he further elaborated on the Witcher 3 Forums;

“Absolutely. I am not saying there is NO possibility you will ever see New Game +. The dev team is aware it has been requested and they like to keep fans happy when possible. However, as you can see by patch 1.07, there are other things being worked on as well. There are still 2 free DLCs (after this week’s Ciri alt costume), there are patches still being worked on and there is the Expansion Pass material being developed. It may happen, it may not happen, but there is definitely no word on it happening currently.
There was a lot of speculation that you would see NG+ in patch 1.07 and it didn’t happen. Some were disappointed by this. I recommend you politely keep asking for it, but don’t expect it. Then, if it should ever happen, you’ll be happy. But if it doesn’t happen for a while, you won’t keep being disappointed.”

So it seems it is something they are considering which is excellent news, I for one would welcome the NG+ addition, allowing you to replay the game with your stronger, kitted out Geralt and at the same time increasing the strength and skills of those around you, this would potentially allow you to replay alternate versions of the story and its branches discovering things you missed the first time around without having to restart the whole game! But I fully understand that this isn’t as simple as turning the feature on, it would require some massive retuning, so I will sit here waiting patiently with my free DLC and incoming massive story packs along with a massive lack of sleep.

As announced above, they are releasing the next patch 1.07 shortly across all platforms, the changes of note are a new optional movement mode for Geralt, a new inventory tab for Books (finally!) and more, no news on an actual release date as of yet, but I would expect to see it by the end of this week.

So what are your thoughts on the potential of a NG+, would you like to take your strong Geralt into the story all over again to replay the things you missed or to see an alternate version of events?
