‘Halo: Fall of Reach’ Trailer Revealed

Since the early days of the initial Xbox console, Halo has stood the test of time and endured as one of the platform’s most successful franchises.  Indeed, the recent buildup of Halo 5 via ‘Hunt the Truth’ and ‘Hunt the Signal’ are excellent indicators of how Microsoft have sought to ramp up the hotly anticipated Q3 release of Halo 5: Guardians. This hasn’t been unique to Halo 5 though, as each previous installment in the Halo series has been met with rapturous anticipation over the years. Increasingly, we’ve witnessed a comprehensive expansion of both the Halo Universe and its associated following, growing from a cult success to arguably the jewel in the Xbox crown.

In addition to the games, fans of the series have seen an expansive world being detailed through expansion games (such as the newly released Spartan Assault); a series of novels and accompanying audio-books; several comic series’ (produced by Marvel and Dark Horse) and a growing number of live-action television series, such as 2014’s ‘Halo:Nightfall’ and 2012’s ‘Forward Unto Dawn’, as well as Steven Spielberg’s hotly anticipated Halo TV series. Adding to this growing world is the upcoming ‘Halo: The Fall of Reach’, based on the book of the same name by Eric Nylund (a fantastic read for any Halo fans out there). ‘Fall of Reach’ is set to be included in the Collector and Limited Editions of Halo 5: Guardians, providing an ‘origin’ story of sorts into the Spartan-II  program that ultimately resulted in the creation of the Master Chief. Check out the newly released trailer below:

This added bonus for those who have ordered the limited or collector’s edition versions of the game will undoubtedly boost 343’s sales of the forthcoming release, particularly following on from the success of Halo 4 and wave of palpable anticipation that currently surrounds Halo 5. If Fall of Reach proves to be successful, it may hopefully result in the production of further animated series’ – Fall of Reach was certainly integral in the development of subsequent titles in the Halo series of novels that are available! The 3-part series will eventually stream on Halo TV channel but initially will be exclusive to those awaiting the release of the game on October 27th.
