At this years E3 conference Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 will come with a copy of Fallout 3 that’s playable on the Xbox One. This has turned out to be only a half truth.
To get a copy of Fallout 3 you will need to preorder a copy of Fallout 4. This need to preorder was announced on the Bethesda blog.
“We’re excited to announce – for a limited time – your pre-order of Fallout 4 for Xbox One will entitle you to receive Fallout 3 on Xbox 360,” it said. “The code for Fallout 3 will be delivered to your Xbox message center in 7-10 days. Redeem your code on Xbox.com or on your Xbox 360.”
At the moment the offer is only available from the Xbox store and there has been no mention as of yet whether it would be also available from retailers or Amazon. This means that you will have to pay the full price for Fallout 4 to get your copy of fallout 3.
If you preorder now then you still won’t be able to play Fallout 3 on your Xbox One as you will have to wait until backwards compatibility becomes available on Xbox one. Until then you will have to be content to play it on the Xbox 360.
