Activision have today shared a new trailer, as well as screens and pre-order details, on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.
The behind-the-scenes video shows footage and interviews from developers Robomodo, including interviews with in-game pros and the man himself, Tony Hawk. It’s been 13 years since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 – oh, how time flies! – and as such, those involved in THPS5 took time to reflect on the franchise’s impact in their lives and what’s driving their motivation for developing the latest game.
On to the screens, and there’s grinding and grabbing, kicks and hops. (At least, there is if those are the correct words for what’s happening.)
If all this has you set on pre-ordering the game, GAME in the UK have a some special items that might tempt you. A collection of digital content inspired by the decade when Tony Hawk first found global fame, the 1980’s, the Totally Rad 80’s Pack includes the following in-game items: 80’s Tony Hawk Character Skin (skate as Tony Hawk from circa 1986 in all modes), 80’s Inspired Birdhouse board, and an Anti-Gravity Board. With that Anti-Gravity Board, you’ll be able to ‘float all over the place, shredding obstacles futuristically!’.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 aims to rekindle the signature style of past Pro Skater games in a brand-new set of levels with a focus on audacious objectives, precision controls – including manuals and reverts – for endless shredding and high-score tricks. It’s coming to Xbox One 29th September, 2015, and is also set to launch on Xbox 360, “anticipated to release prior to the end of the year.”
Xbox One players can also expect online multiplayer, featuring drop-in, drop-out online skate sessions with over 20 friends and challenges at one time. You’ll be able to complete missions, unlock new content as you level up online or offline, as well as compete in competitive matches. Players will also be able to build their own skateparks and share with the community!
