Space Dust Racers offers 16 player local party madness!

From Space Dust Studios (a small team of game developers who have formerly worked for Visceral Games, Crystal Dynamics and Atari) comes a fresh 16- YES 16!- player racer! The Studio is using Smartphone browser technology over local wifi to achieve this monumental party size. The team believe the technology is ready and, as Lead Technology Designer Glen Stuart puts it, “The biggest constraint is the size of your living room!”

The game features:

  • Use smartphones and laptops as extra controllers for up to 16 players in one room
  • Vehicular combat racing for all ages featuring gorgeous 3D cartoon characters
  • Battle friends on the couch, compete online, or adventure alone
  • Customisable party game modes with dozens of modifiers
  • Exotic extraterrestrial locations featuring absurd weapon powerups
  • Simple controls for newcomers, with advanced strategies for veterans
  • Round-based combat ensures quick respawns and allows drop-in drop-out play

Aiming for release on Xbox One next year, Lead Gameplay Developer, Michael Davies, has already suggested rewarding players who manage to hit max capacity. “It’s going to be total chaos. We’ll probably even make it an in-game achievement.”

This game could be the Micro Machines of the next generation and we are looking forward to squashing up on the sofa amongst our best 15 friends as we battle it out! (We had better warn the neighbours!)
