Star Wars Battlefront: New update on bringing space battles to Xbox One

Star Wars Battlefront: New update on bringing space battles to Xbox One.

STAR Wars Battlefront will not have any space battles at launch but are EA set to bring them later in the game’s life-cycle

Even though Battlefront had its big reveal last week, there is still much about the game we don’t know.

One of the big questions for fans has been the lack of space battles for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC titles.

DICE producer Craig Mcleod has already gone on record to say that the team are focusing on epic planetary battles but also explained that Star Destroyers will play a role in the game.

Looking at the recent trailer for Battlefront, we know for certain that there will be dogfights above the planets of Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust.

But going past the November 20 release date, what can we expect from future additions to the Star Wars game?

The mission mode could perhaps include a brief taste of space combat within one of its challenges but that’s unlikely to keep fans content.

Producer Jesper Nielsen has been keeping fans up-to-date with whatever new information he can release and has given a few more hints at what could be coming later in Battlefront’s life-cycle.

“We have and are still discussing space every now and again,” Nielsen wrote on Reddit.

“We know it has some very exciting prospects. So of course that would be fun to explore!

“When and if that will happen is impossible for me to say, but no, we’re not saying that space battles are evil and that we will never, ever touch them with a ten-foot pole.

“What you see in DLC is sometimes the result of things that you started thinking during the latter part of development.

“We have a word in development for constantly adding new features: it’s called feature creep and it’s absolutely paramount to avoid that in the latter stages if you want to build a good game.

“It’s hard though! But as you will quickly learn as you embark on game development; the truly hard part is finishing and shipping the game.”
