Dark Souls 2 – Bug Found And A Fix Is On The Way

High frame rate causes weapon durability issues

Dark Souls 2 is a pretty epic title but has been hit by a pretty epic bug, the high frame rate the game runs at is causing havoc with the weapon durability in a big way.

Weapon durability in Dark Souls II is tied to frame rate, so getting 60 frames per second means weapons degrade an awful lot faster than they would when playing with 30 frames per second. Only recently the publisher (Bandai Namco) announced that it’s working on a fix for this issue. They had this following statement on the issue:

“The fix will be issued and will be apparent for people running the game at 60fps as the durability decrease rate is linked to the frame rate. We are still working on the exact release date for the patch, which will also fix additional issues not just durability, and will follow up with the date as soon as possible.”

We hope that a fix is released soon as this game is truly an experience, even if it needs to be at a lower frame rate. Until then please check out our previous articles:
