What do we know so far….
Activision have teased us with Black Ops 3 via a short video titled ‘Back in Black’. But the description that follows is of the game and is embedded in the source code for the Call Of Duty website. It gives us an idea of the game ahead of a planned announcement.
“Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty® history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.”
This statement proves to us two things about the yet to be released installment:
- Zombies mode is back. Not a huge surprise, considering both previous Black Ops games included the walking dead. Still, it’s an excellent mode that gives players something to do aside the campaign and multiplayer.
- Black Ops 3 takes place in a “dark, twisted” future where the lines between humanity and technology are unclear to say the least. Military robotics feature and are the core of this version of warfare.
The teaser video leaves us guessing so many things from references to the previous Black Ops games to the futuristic setting, what do you make of it so far:
We now have full confirmation from the publisher via Activision’s Twitter feed that Black Ops 3 will be the 2015 release, although Activision has a world reveal planned for Sunday the 26th of April.
